Holy Week & Easter In Review

Why am I always so behind? I am writing this mostly to preserve the memories so I can look back one day and it's another excuse to look at the pictures, not quite two weeks ago yet...

Easter Sunday and the days leading up to Easter were filled with sweet smiles, girls in white dresses, dapper charming boys and way too much good food.

Holy Thursday

We did some crafts on Holy Thursday, including Ruth's Stations of the Cross votive candles with one of our favorite families.

They are always asking for more crafts, so we did Stained Glass Crosses which they love doing every year.

Good Friday

Good Friday included a picnic lunch of hot cross buns. The Stations of the Cross votive candles were the perfect way to focus the children on the liturgy of the Stations devotion. I wish I had a picture of the candles or the children walking around the family room lighting them as we prayed Jennifer Miller's children's Stations liturgy, but the time was actually fairly solemn so I didn't think to get my camera. Then I had to put the candles away to keep them away from a very curious toddler.

Holy Saturday

We did a lot of baking...

(a little tip, we always save the buttermilk byproduct for heart shaped buttermilk pancakes for Divine Mercy Sunday one week later)

Easter Sunday

Did I mention yet how much I love these cute kids? Of course it's not hard when they look so spiffed up and cute in their spring time fancies.

Mass first, then home for Easter baskets.

One set of family came over for an Easter brunch with our traditional monkey bread cross and a little indoor egg hunt.

Then over to the other set of family's house for Easter dinner. First the kids had fun with the silly string and bubbles they got in their Easter baskets.

We even managed to find a good spot and some overcast cloudy weather to get a decent family picture.

Happy Belated Easter from our family to you!
