Tommorrow's Feast of our Lady of Fatima on May 13th is now a special day for me (since what happened with Sweet Pea in 2009 here and here). We will be doing a few things from this post... Feast of our Lady of Fatima (2010) For food, I will probably try a smaller version of this Miracle of the Sun Fruit Platter over at Catholic Cuisine. We will also be doing our artwork for the Art for Our Lady: Marian Artist Trading Card Swap. Our Lady of Fatima, Pray for us.

Happy Mother's Day to all mothers. Sonnets are full of love Christina Rossetti (1881) Sonnets are full of love, and this my tome Has many sonnets: so here now shall be One sonnet more, a love sonnet, from me To her whose heart is my heart’s quiet home, To my first Love, my Mother, on whose knee I learnt love-lore that is not troublesome; Whose service is my special dignity, And she my loadstar while I go and come And so because you love me, and because I love you, Mother, I have woven a wreath Of rhymes wherewith to crown your honored name: In you not fourscore years can dim the flame Of love, whose blessed glow transcends the laws Of time and change and mortal life and death.

We decided to let someone else do the cooking and the cleaning for our Cinco de Mayo celebration. We headed out for a yummy Mexican dinner. My kids right away spotted the Sacred Heart of Jesus candle on the table. I just love chips and salsa, apparently so does Sweet Pea. Don't worry she didn't drink this beer, neither did I. I hope your Cinco de Mayo was fun and yummy too.

On this special day of the beatification of Pope John Paul II, our family honored the man born as Karol Józef Wojtyła in Wadowice, Poland by celebrating his Polish heritage with a Polish luncheon feast. We lit our Pope John Paul II candle and said a prayer for his blessing on our family. Our feast of potato pancakes, potato pierogis and kielbasa sausage and eggs was delicious. We watched the beatification mass of this gentle, loving and amazing man. In honor of Pope John Paul II's love for the Divine Mercy Devotion, we will listen to and pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet in song on our way to the park to enjoy this lovely day as a family.
Blessed Pope John Paul II, Pray for Us.
